Spotlight on The Luminators!

Our popular puppet team is getting better and better, thanks to generous grants from the Mass Cultural Council - particularly the Attleboro, Norton, and Mansfield Cultural Councils! THANK YOU!

The illuminate School of Puppetry has been one of our fastest growing programs. In just 5 years, it's grown from one workshop with a few interested students to multiple classes for all ages and a separate performance team - The Luminators. To think that all of this started with just one grant application!

With the generous support of grants from Local Cultural Councils, we have been able to build a School of Puppetry that teaches all aspects of the art: from creating characters to writing original scenes to making the puppets from scratch. Students work their way through the program to eventually land on the performance team, which is designed to bring free puppetry arts to the community by request! This year, we have been able to add to our microphone system (finally - we can hear everyone!), and we finally purchased a new puppet theatre as the first was falling apart. All of this creates a more professional experience for the audience, so that they can truly sit back and enjoy.

The students are gaining the experience of a lifetime as they work together for new audiences every time.

Pictured below are their recent performances at the Attleboro Winter Festival, The Norton Public Library, and the Attleboro Jewelry City Steampunk Festival. Not pictured? Their monthly visits to Capron Park Zoo. This cannot be possible without the support of these grants AND our community. Click here to give!
